Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 20

I know my next post was not supposed to be 'til tomorrow, but I have decided to change my posting schedule to Monday, Wednesday and Friday instead.  That will give me more posts and breaks for the weekend.

With that said, I share my progress from yesterday.  Today was a great day!  I did Pilates, which made me feel great.  It is only a twenty minute workout roughly, but it sure works those abs.  I can just feel it working.  So I am back to my workout routine.  Everything is on schedule and good to go.

 I am going to wait until Wednesday to do the measurements.  It is too early to do them quite yet.  So next post is 2/2/11.  See ya then!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 19

This weekend was an interesting one.  We spent a lot of time with my parents so Jesse could have some time with his grandparents.  He always enjoys being with them.  Yesterday we went over in the afternoon and had supper with them.  We then decided on a whim to spend the night.  I was too tired, after a long day, to drive home, so we spent the night.  One thing I forgot about was my supplements.  So I missed yesterday because I left them at home not expecting to be spending the night somewhere else.


So that made it for an interesting weekend.  We had a great time together though.  Well, back to the challenge.  My clothes continue to get bigger as I continue to lose weight.  Everything seems to be working like a charm.  Next posting will be another measurement post.  I am going to post all measurements this time.  As I move into the last week or two in the challenge I will be giving all measurement info and then a final one on the last day as a summary.

Nothing else to report here.  It is late, so I'm going to bed.  Everyone have a nice week.  Next post is on 2/1/11!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 17

Well, the challenge continues.  There really hasn't been any change since the last report.  I still feel great.  Not sure if I have more energy or not.  That is hard to tell since I have a lot of energy anyway.  So we move closer to the goal.

I didn't think it would be so hard to make time for exercise, but it has become a bit of a challenge.  I am not going to let that stop me.  A plan will be in place by my next post.  I will be relentless.  I will over come!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 15

 Woohoo!  I have made it halfway through this challenge.  I feel great and can't wait to see what the outcome is going to be in the end!

This challenge seems to be paying off so far.  It seems like the healthier I get, the better I feel.  I heard something just the other day that a large percentage of people want to lose weight.  Those who do are healthier.  When you are healthy you feel better.  When you feel better, you are happier.  I would say that is what I am experiencing, and it's great!

I am actually looking forward to next week's weigh in and measurements because I know the results are going to be good.  They will be even better as long as I keep my exercise routine.  It has been hard lately because our schedule has been crazy.  It can be hard, sometimes, to keep your schedule when you have a two year old in the house. :)  Things can be unpredictable.  I kind of like that though.  It puts a little variety in life.

Well, I guess that is about it to report for now.  Next post will be 1/17/11.  This is quite a milestone.  Only two more weeks to go!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 13

My next post marks the halfway point of this challenge.  Finally things are starting to change.  Below are my new measurements.  As you can see, I lost two more pounds and another half inch off my waste.  It feels great!  At this rate I should be able to get below 170! 

Weight - 173.4 lbs.
Waist - 37 1/2 in.

So whether this stuff is starting to work, or I am just loosing my water weight.  Either way I am loosing weight!  It feels great and I do feel better, although my pants are getting too big.  Need to go shopping!  Energy wise, I haven't really seen any difference yet, but that's okay.  I have plenty of energy of my own already.  So the challenge continues.  Almost half-way!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 11

I am now almost halfway through this challenge and there has been little difference on how I feel thus far.  Of course feeling healthier and actually being healthier are two different things.    In a good way, this has been a great learning experience for me.  This challenge has shown me that when you put your mind to something, it will get done.


 One thing I have noticed in the last day or two is that I have had to go in one more hole on my belt.  That means my waist is getting smaller.  It also happens to be where the majority of my fat has congregated.  So this "shrinking" could mean only one of two things.  One, this stuff is actually starting to work and is helping me burn my fat.  Or two, the exercises I have been doing is helping me replace my fat with muscle.  I guess there could be a third thing.  It could be a combination of the two.  Either way it's a good thing.  I have to go out and get more pants now.  The ones I have look weird now because I have to tighten my belt so much.


That about sums it up for the day.  Next reporting will be 1/25/11 and I will be giving measurements at that time.  Until next time.  Have a great rest of the weekend!

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 9

Did you know it takes 21 days to create a habit?  It only takes a few days to break one though.  Well I am still working on creating my habit of exercising and taking this supplement. 

Yesterday I "accidentally" forgot to take my supplements.  Ooops!  But that's okay.  I will overcome.  No one is perfect.  So I am moving on.  It has also been hard keeping my workout schedule.  I have a solution for that though.  I have a schedule, but I am going to create a more detailed and specific one that includes free time and extracurricular activities.  When you schedule even your free time, it is much more difficult to have surprises.

So that is basically my update.  No change with anything else yet.  I hope this week is going to be different.  I am beginning to wonder if this stuff really works or not, but I"ll give it a little more time to convince me.

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 7

Today marks the first complete week of the Acai challenge.  There has not been a whole lot of change, but I said I would do measurements, so here are a few of them:

Weight - 175.3 lbs.
Waiste - 37 3/4 in.

These are the only measurements I am going to give until the end.  Not much changes with the other ones anyway.  At least not this soon.  So something is working.  Whether it's the exercise, the supplements or both, I don't care.  At least I am getting results.  Nothing else to report.  Exercising is going well.  Until next time.  Next report on 1/20/11.

Acai Supplement Challenge: Day 5

Well I am almost done with my first week in this challenge and the only significant change I have noticed is my bowel movements becoming more regular.  Kind of strange, but good in a way I guess.

 So the weekend threw my schedule off a little like it always seems to.  I didn't miss my supplements, but I did miss two days of my scheduled exercise.  It is only the first week, so I know I have room for improvement in this area.  It is busy at home, but there is always a way to make time to work out for 20 minutes each day.  So far I have done Wii Active, Just Dance on the Wii (Yes, I like the Wii) and Pilates.  These three activities give me variety and cover different areas of the body. 

 The exercising I am just adding as an aid to help lose the weight, but I do need it too.  You have to replace the fat with something right?  Why not muscle.  That would help burn the fat better anyway.

 Ok, I think that is all for this report.  Next report will be 1/18/10 (the day before my birthday) and that will also mark my first full week.  I will take measurements and see IF there is any difference.  I don't expect this to be too dramatic until week 3, but we'll see!

Acai Challenge: Day 3

So I am on day three of the Acai challenge.  Being that I have just started, I am not going to bother doing all my measurements.  In fact I'll probably do that once a week.  So rather next time or mid next week I'll do measurements.

Alright down to business.  Well, I haven't noticed any change yet.  I suppose that won't happen until after the first week.  I'm sure everything has to be given time to actually get in my system and "do its work" if it actually does do something.   So physically, there is no difference.  The only thing I am experiencing right now is a little soreness from working out this week.  But soon that will pass.

As far as my focus and mental health, there doesn't seem to be much difference.  I have actually been quite tired lately, but I would contribute that to staying up too late and having to get up so early.  There has been a little change in my focus ability.  It has seemed to get better, but I have no way of proving that it's the supplement or my determination to become more focused.

I guess that's about it for this report.  Nothing too interesting yet, but I am sure it will be.  Next report date, Saturday, 1/15/11.

A New Goal For The New Year

Before the new year I read about a local news reporter who supposedly found out about the Acai berry and its great nutritional properties.  She decided to try it combined with another supplement to help cleanse her colon and detoxify.  Her goal was to take the supplements for 30 days and try to loose weight and see what the supplements did for her energy and so forth.

After reading her story I decided to try it too.  I ordered both bottles of the same supplements for free (They were under a free trial.  I only paid for shipping) and decided to take one of each for 30 days.  When I got the bottles I realized I had enough for my wife to do it too.  So I am going to try to convince her to join me in this quest.

My goal for this is to lose more weight, gain some more energy and even some more focus to get my business running smoothly.  I will report twice a week and share my statistics and findings.  I might even get personal and give my weight and other measurements so people can see my progress.  Keep in mind also that I have an exercise program that I will be following to help along the way.

So today is the first day.  May everyone note that on 1/11/11 I took my first supplements.  My next reporting date will be 1/13/11.  Here are my starting stats:

Weight - 176.1 lbs    Goal weight - between 150-160 lbs.  (Being that there is an average of 10 lbs of retained water and 17 lbs of food in the digestive tract, I shouldn't have a problem reaching this goal)
Waste - 38 in.  Goal - 32-34 in.
Biceps - 13 in.  Goal - 16 in.
Quads - 24 in.  Goal - 22 in.
Calves - 15 in.  Goal - 13-14 in.
Chest - 39.5 in.  Goal - 41 in.
Neck - 15 in.  Goal - 16 in.

So this is my first challenge of the year.  It's also a test to see if this stuff really works.  We'll see.  Wish me luck.  Until next time...
